Scribd!

Scribd, It is a new horizon of transporting, circulating or sharing your documents of any kind may it be a .doc, .ppt, .xls, .pdf or .txt.

There are quite a few interesting features. You can download your (uploaded) documents in any format you'd like it to be. For example, upload a MS Word document and download it as a PDF file; ASAT.

What fascinates me in this is the embedded document reader which will read-aloud your documents for you. You can even record it and download it as .MP3 on your iPod or even take it for a podcast in your personal blog.

Caution: The uploaded documents will be public.

This is a web2.0 application where your documents will be converted to Adobe Flash Paper document which can even be embedded into your blog just like the YouTube / Google videos.

It is super cool! check out this sample;

Are you 'dangling in dingle' now!

10:58 AM me: what does that mean ???
10:59 AM K_Prabakar: kelvi kaekkaradhu easy baasu
11:00 AM me: athukaaka ippdi ellam ezhuthina.. epdi kaelvi kaekkama irukkarathu!
K_Prabakar: the sentence as a whole will not mean anything...
11:01 AM but it'll allow anyone to learn the words and how wrongly they can be used....
preamble is a word associated with random processing
do u remember?
me: I could make out that you are taking "a uncertain gamble in this small world and hanging freely'
11:02 AM ya.. uncertainity right?
K_Prabakar: wowow!!
u got my core!!
me: yeah what did you mean exactly and what do you mean by dangling?!
11:06 AM K_Prabakar: an unprofessionalistic murder which left the mangled body in the valley dangling, there lies a gamble and preamble though the valley has been covered(thimble) or protected...
11:07 AM me: dangling dangle is a wrong usage!!
thats what I meant.
K_Prabakar: :))
ya ya
11:08 AM i can say 'dangling in dingle'?
me: yeah
K_Prabakar: ok.. i'll correct....
do u find anything else wrong?
11:09 AM me: and preamble gambles is a redundant usage.... I think so
11:10 AM K_Prabakar: in poetic situation we can allow it
me: you mean a small amount of gamble eh?
11:11 AM ie a small risk / uncertainity?
K_Prabakar: whatever....
me: k
K_Prabakar: ada aditcha naaane ivlo alavukku yosikkila
:D

Marketing Sangam..hehe

Episode 1

Well, it’s hightime to blog. Would rather say, am forced to blog...otherwise ppl will rip my arse...thoh Sangam’s caption says "Spirit of freedom" they are very much aggressive in their goals :P comment : enna da aaramba me seri illa. ivan inna solla poran??

I was wondering "what am I gonna blog". Suddenly thought of bloggin about Sangam’s marketing goals :)

Hope by now, you know what Sangam is, what they do and what they don’t do blah blah. Now we are taking Sangam globally; as you know members of Sangam are spread across the globe.

Sangam’s talent hunt

We are 25 in number now. In Dec, 2k7 we are planning to ramp-up ( first time in Sangam’s history) the team size to 53. We all know it’s a tough target, but we are all set and prepared for the same. Here are some common questions which wud arise in ppls mind.
1. Why are these guys gonna ramp up?
2. Tot Sangam is non profit organization?
3. Is Sangam a software company? I saw this in some blog “We are a 'sangam' (group) of software professionals who vehemently code for a living :)” doesn’t it sound like a software company :P
4. What is talent hunt? Are they recruiting?
5. What skill set is required?
Goes on and on…..

Before answering what is talent hunt, let me tell about how the “best find” happened in Sangam. Each person in Sangam has a unique talent. Like in case if you take “j/lollu” bhaski he puts hell a lot of mokkais * (like me). That’s a unique talent he as got with. Impressed by such credentials, Sangam immediately hired him for $4 billion(Do you believe this??? Well, you might have to!! it may sound colossal but to Sangam its always ppl first and Sangam is unique in this way). Hope this example has answered what the talent hunt is. If you have a unique and exceptional talent you are hired.

Why does some one want to hire me? What do they need from me?
Don’t wanna reinvent the wheel. Refer “http://sangamite.blogspot.com/2007/05/vazhga-sangam-valarga-sangam.html“. Briefly, to make us laugh. It is like "long long ago so long ago kings paid huge amount to vikatakavi..and u know the reason...to laugh. Thats one reason of how the name came. sanga kala illakiyam - sanga - old, ancient. Moving back to old style.

Expectation/Projection for next quarter
To be continued.

ithuthaanda mokka...yaralayavuthu mudiyama..I know ppl will come up with questions like "dei ithulam oru bloga?". The answer wud be "I wanna keep this blog alive(by posting more mokkais) Frankly, ennalayum mudila thrupi madikka".

Note : you may see more such blogs in near future. So, keep ya eye on this www.sangamite.blogspot.com

Request to Thalaivar.... promise me that u wont remove me out of sangam after reading it :P

Getting started...

The thing about blogs is that the most interesting ones are interesting because of the people who write them and the people who read them.

I guess with SANGAM in action, its gonna be lot more interesting and fun to blog and read through..

Two pillars moving out of my team.

This blog is to give tribute to my team members (Amudhan and Prabakar) who were moving out of the company for their better career growth. It is like losing Ganguly’s and Sachin’s wickets in the first two balls of the match. These two lads did lots for the team and contributed more than what they can do. Their loss is very high to compensate.

To say about these guys both of them were thick friends (like Amudhan and ila in VV :)). I learnt lot of things form these two guys. Both will be abscond in the same time from office and make the Team leader blink.

Amudhan is aggressive in all the things he does. He is very good in Table Tennis, Chess, Blogging, Game making and much more.

Prabakar is a cool guy and handles things with great care. He is very good in his accent, music, orkuting and friends making. He gives more importance to his friends than his family members. Still he has to learn TT from Amudhan :).His loss will affect me more than anybody else and need extra ability to tolerate.

Sangam wishes them good luck in all their future endeavors.

All the people here in Sangam fall under one category; and it is: Fun Loving Guys. Sangam does not care about the age or the status of the persons (Simply implement the marker interface, FunLover and you become eligible to be in Sangam). All anyone could see when Sangam assembles is, smiles, gags, laughs, fun, etc. Anyone who observes or sees Sangam would definitely want to join in Sangam, of course if they are fun lovers. Sangam does not have any political aspect. If at all Sangam enters in to the politics, its only motto will be *make merry, spread merry and be merry*.

(Not all members are covered in these photos. This is just to show the real smiles adn laughs)

Sangam is the miniature of Indian culture in one funny way. We have Sangam member of various languages, of wide range of ages, of various official status, of various countries, etc. So, Sangam proves *Unity in Diversity*. This is just a glimpse of what is Sangam. As you should expect, a ocean could not be filled in a glass tumbler. So, visit again to know and learn more about Sangam. This is to be continued by any other Sangam members.

Vazhga Sangam, Valarga Sangam!

Welcome Aboard!

As a sangamite, this is my first post to the Sangam blog. I was asked to start it off with an introduction on sangam and its activities. So it is two days already with this humongous responsibility resting on my shoulder, I dont know what could be the best way to introduce it to the cyberworld readers (and Thats exactly you!).

The word Sangam is probably of Indo-Aryan origin, coming from Sangha, the Buddhist and Jain term for an assembly of monks. In Tamil the word means "assembly" or "academy".

We are a 'sangam' (group) of software professionals who vehemently code for a living :). Our motto 'Esprit de la liberte (English: Spirit of freedom) tells you who we are and what we are upto. We have fun, we party like anything, we shout, we sing and dance, we live the day as there is no tomorrow and we have fun, period.

I'm always encountered with a super intelligent question; "Sangam !, well what does that stand for? what are you trying to accomplish? ". Most of the time I pass it on with a gentle grin and sometimes I do answer them saying sangam is 'Storage Area Networking (professionals) Goofing Around Mercilessly!". The most serious answer would be to say 'I dont know, perhaps we dont know!'. We just instantaneously formed a group with some like minded people and gave it a name just like any parent would name their kid. They have immense hope in the kid and a dedication to bring it up as the best kid in the world. Thats the feeling we have too towards sangam. We dont have a concrete plan of what we'll be doing the next day, leave alone the next year or next 5 years. We believe in keeping one step at a time, so when we look back , all our footsteps that we left behind will have a loads of stories to remember and rejoice.

This blog is one such initiative to record all the sangam talents, events and what not. No matter where we are tomorrow, we can still be connected and be a sangamite via this blog.
We have loads of talents inside, so watch this space for interesting writings, movie reviews, (Mokka) jokes, videos and all other sangam events and news.

Happy reading :)
